In this paper, we try to outline an analysis of the relationship between science and religious ideas. After a short presentation of the achievements of science along millenia, as well as of the religious ideas, we show that although nowadays there is an attitude of reserve of the scientists towards religious ideas, in reality they are complementary with the scientific ones, representing the endeavour of people towards knowledge. As a conclusion, we quote the words of André Malraux: “The 21st century will be religious or it will not be at all”.
