In this short review the unique features of the book are underlined. It is shown that beside a wealth of valuable historic data the original contribution of the authors is bold and comprises several aspects related with the education in engineering in Romania. The entire evolution is seen in its historical, national and international perspective along the two centuries when the roots of the University “Politehnica” of Bucharest are dated.
