The author outlines the hypothesis that the creation of the Hirsch Index by US physicist Jorge Hirsch is a result of a frustration of Hirsch due to the rejection by the international research community of the physics of superconductivity of Hirsch’s disapproval of the Bardeen, Cooper and Schrieffer (BCS) theory of superconductivity.
