There are various ways involving scientific values’ falsification, including scientometry’s vulgarizations and manipulations. Some of such possibilities are discussed in this paper. In order to avoid such bad practices, the Romanian universities need rigorous academic evaluation frameworks, combining in a competent responsible manner quantitative and qualitative evaluation made by human experts. Exclusive quantitative approaches are not adequate for a correct evaluation. A mature academic evaluation must involve human specialists in that research field. The academic evaluation committees, at least for professor positions, must include some high-level scientists belonging to prestigious European universities.
