Some recollections of Acad. Vsevolod Moscalenco, concerning his PhD research, under the supervision of N. N. Bogoliubov, and the scientific life in Moscow, in the late '50s of the last century, are presented. The scientific emulation, the political tension, the passionate competition for a correct description of superconductivity, are evoked with humor and wisedom by a brilliant scholar, one of the founding fathers of the school of theoretical physics in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.
