The University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine from Cluj-Napoca is, nowadays, one of the most prestigious universities of Life Sciences in Romania, claiming advanced research, beside education, as main priorities. Shortly, the evolution of the university history of 145 years is presented, as well details about the recent celebration of this anniversary, honoured by many academia and political personalities. As a recognition of the multiple collaborations with foreign and national personalities which contributed to the progress of this university, until now, 66 titles of Doctor or Profesor Honoris Causa were awarded, including the last one, for the former student, now Prime Minister of Romania, Dacian Cioloş, who is promoting the recognition of Romanian scientific values in Life Sciences.
