The Open Access (OA) science policy started as democratic, "free, irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual right of access to, and a license to copy, use, distribute, transmit, and display the work publicly in order to make and distribute derivative works, in any digital medium for any responsible purpose, subject to proper attribution of authorship" [1]. The difference between gratis- and libre-OA is highlighted. Benefits and drawbacks are discussed shortly in this note.
