The necessity to modernize the education process at all degrees, taking into account the contemporary scientific, social and political changes, represents one of the most important and controversial concern at present. Efforts to “reform” the education are being undertaken for several decades with some positive results but also with negative results. In the following lines, we propose ourselves to examine how the ideas regarding the education reform sprang up, how they were applied and what results they had over the years.
