The recent book written by Daniel David has attracted the unanimous support and appreciation of Romanian psychologists, who consider that this work uses a sound theoretical and methodological apparatus and represents an important manifest of modern Romanian psychology. Contrary to this positive view I argue that “The psychology of the Romanian people” is marred by important errors that undermine its scientific value and create a dangerous situation for the Romanian science. Specifically, I criticize the reliance on controversial works, the biased presentation of historical and contemporary psychological issues, crucial theoretical omissions, and irreparable methodological flaws.
