Dumitru Ceaușescu (1916 – 2008), inorganic and analytical chemistry professor, essentially contributed to the foundation and development of the chemical disciplines in the West University Timisoara. His uppermost attention was directed towards applying mathematical statistics in analytical chemistry. He has developed several analytical methods for polluted natural and waste waters, air, and soils from the Banat region. Scientific contributions: 110 papers published in representative journals edited in Romania and abroad, 10 scientific books.
