The Institute of Atomic Physics, today The Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering „Horia Hulubei’’, has celebrated on May 23, 2016, its 60th anniversary at Magurele, with the unveiling of the bust of its first director Professor Horia Hulubei, member of the Roumanian Academy. We review here the short history of the Institute, along with some speeches presented at one special session of communications.
