The paper comments on two conferences presented at Bucharest National History Museum of Romania dedicated to interdisciplinary studies on most relevant gold and silver ancient artifacts from Romanian museums. The studies were performed in the last years by a complex team of physicists, archaeologists, chemists, historians, mainly in the frame of ROMARCHAEOMET project financed by the National Agency for Research and Development. The role of archaeometallurgy – especially of nuclear-atomic analytical methods – is outlined.
