The Second World Congress on Water Channel Proteins (Aquaporins and Relatives) celebrating the 30th anniversary of the discovery of the first water channel protein (later called Aquaporin 1) was held in Cluj- Napoca, Romania, May 6-10, 2015. The distinguished academics from Australia, Austria, Belgium, P.R. China, Germany, Italy, Japan, Romania, Sweden, UK and USA, involved in this novel and very hot field of research, aquaporinology, presented the latest progress of knowledge regarding the water channel proteins. It was attended by hundreds of scientists and students, and was unanimously valued as a remarkable success.
