Alexandru Proca was a Romanian engineer and a French physicist who left Romania when he was 26. In 1925 he graduated Faculty of Science at Sorbonne University and in 1930 he was naturalized French citizen. He became famous in 1936 when he published Proca's equations of the massive vector boson field. Proca is considered the founder of modern school of French theoretical physics due to the Proca Seminar (1946-1955) at the Poincaré Institute. After a short chronology we present a brief biography and few notions of relativistic quantum fields, particularly the Proca field.
