abstract ={ The Babes-Bolyai University in Romania (BBU), with several thousand students and ~1500 faculty members, is one of the largest universities in south-eastern Europe, and one of the higher-ranked universities at national level in terms of scientific research, with a comprehensive profile that spans exact sciences, social sciences, economics, theology and others. A scientometric-based evaluation system was recently applied at this university for its research groups, taking into account ~50 items presumed to afford quantification of scientific output, and defining two separate sets of formulae for exact sciences vs the rest of the disciplines. The protocol and the results of this evaluation are discussed, highlighting the relative contributions of the components to the overall score. },
