abstract ={ The problem of the relationship between religion and science is revis¬ited reminding the principles that guarantee the independence of science: freedom of thought, conscience and religion, tolerance and separation be¬tween science and religion. Arguments are given for the absence of a real conflict between these two domains as long as they do not overlap each other using different methods and ways of knowledge. For this reason, a new trend with bigotry accents in the Romanian academic life gives rise to some concerns about possible influences upon the scientific activities. However, the real danger is the absence of the scientific information in the common culture which tends to be invaded by superstitions. },
