abstract ={ Undergraduate admission in the USA is based both on academic and extracurricular activities. Academic performance is measured by two scores: (1) the grade point average (GPA), which is the average of all graded over the four years of high school, and (2) the score of a nation-wide standardized test of which the most used is the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). A high school student can take the SAT test multiple times and statistics show that more than half of the students took it at least twice: usually during the spring semester of junior year (11th grade) and during the fall semester of senior year (12th grade). The SAT test is three hours and 45 minutes long and tests three areas of competence: critical reading, mathematics and writing. },
