The paper is inspired by the first larger such synthesis (Psychology of Romanian People. The Psychological Profile of Romanian - by professor Ph.D., Daniel David) and the reactions generated by this monographic research. The paper discusses the legitimacy of psychology in general and of cross-cultural psychology especially in the analysis of such problems, as well as the way in which data collected at the individual level may be aggregated at the group, community or country level. We argue that Romanian psychology has again reached the maturity level necessary in order to generate such works which bring a much needed empirical tone to cultural discussions. We finally argue for the tentative acceptance of the conclusions of this study and for rather focusing discussion on the antecedents and likely effects that will be generated by some of the characteristics shown by the study to be inherent to the Romanian people. }, URL = { http://rpss.inoe.ro/articles/202 }, eprint = { http://rpss.inoe.ro/articles/202/file }, journal = { Revista de Politica Stiintei si Scientometrie – Serie Noua } }
