abstract ={ The author participated at a memorable Symposium of the Roumanian Academy on July 2, 1970, dedicated to the perspectives of science development in Romania. He recorded fragments of the Costin D. Neniţescu’s speech, a virulent criticism of the conditions assigned to researchers in Romania. Twenty-six days later Costin Nenitescu died of a heart attack. The Romanian political authorities refused to publish his speech  one year later in the Proceedings of the Symposium. },
